Despite the fact that using phones is strongly discouraged at this year’s exclusive fashion event themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” with a dress code of “Tailored for You,” held within New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, many attendees found themselves snapping a few pictures with their personal devices once they entered the venue. At an event, Megan Thee Stallion managed to sneak a photo with a group of stars that included Angel Reese and Doechii during their dinner together.

Megan’s Instagram-named “Hottie Cam” featured clips of the WNBA star, artist, and “DENIAL IS A RIVER” creator sampling caviar cornbread, lobster rolls, and various hors d’oeuvres. In another instance from her video, Megan, aged 30, humorously commented, “We shouldn’t have our phones,” as Tracee Ellis Ross playfully instructed her to “put it away.

Inside the event, the famous rapper from Texas, known as “Bigger in Texas”, interacted with Angela Bassett, Serena Williams, and Ciara during filming.

Anna Wintour, who serves as the lead chair for the Met Gala, is unlikely to participate in the custom of rule-bending traditions like taking selfies. In fact, she made it clear in a 2014 video for Vogue that she has never taken a selfie and has no plans to start doing so now.

In fact, the 75-year-old is not a fan of phones on Met Gala night—period.
