Metal Gear Solid Delta Release Date Confirmed in Official Trailer

Following a subtle hint about the launch date for Konami’s much-awaited remake of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, PlayStation has now officially verified its long-anticipated premiere. Although neither Konami nor Sony have addressed recent rumors, a new trailer was unveiled today demonstrating Naked Snake in combat against the Soviets in a nostalgic manner similar to 2004’s MGS3, which is renowned as one of the best video games ever made. The official trailer that was released today, following the initial leak, confirms that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be available on August 28th.

Achieving one of the top Metal Gear Solid games is no small accomplishment, given that Hideo Kojima isn’t involved in this project. However, it appears Konami is ready for the challenge. If the remake sticks close to the original game, both veterans and newcomers can expect a stealthy and powerful introduction to Metal Gear Solid Delta. This remake could rekindle interest in the series, as Konami hasn’t released a new installment since 2018 with Metal Gear Survive, which was a commercial flop.

I’m absolutely thrilled that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is set to bridge the gap in the Metal Gear series for now! The remake was unveiled back in May 2023, offering fans a chance to delve into Naked Snake’s origin story. As time has passed, Konami has emphasized that their goal is to replicate Snake Eater’s stealth gameplay and narrative with updated graphics and improvements, while staying true to the original. Given that the 2004 title was initially released on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 3DS, it promises to be exhilarating to experience this critically acclaimed story on contemporary consoles.

The game titled “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” will be available for purchase on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and personal computers starting August 28, 2025.
