As a dedicated fan with over two decades of stealth-action gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has sent waves of excitement coursing through me and fellow aficionados. The prospect of revisiting the jungle-bound exploits of Big Boss in a modernized package is tantalizing, to say the least.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater appears to be a promising comeback for the cherished stealth series, and while some might have wished for a more drastic shift from its roots, the announcement as a faithful remake of MGS3 is what has many fans eagerly anticipating it. However, this doesn’t imply that it will be an identical copy of the original game.
In a chat with Play magazine, series producer Noriaki Okamura shared that Konami aims to provide an authentic feel reminiscent of the original Metal Gear Solid Delta, yet avoid giving off a dated impression.
He explained through GamesRadar that their main objective during the remake process was to ensure the game retained its original essence from 20 years ago, while simultaneously avoiding giving off the impression of being an outdated game.
He noted, “We aimed to avoid modifications that might disrupt the immersive feel of the game. Yet, we also wanted to ensure that playing the game doesn’t feel antiquated or like it’s an ancient version. Our goal is to maintain the gameplay experience as fresh and contemporary as some of the newer games, all while keeping you engrossed in the game itself.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is modifying various aspects of its original content, such as updated graphics, a revised control setup, adjustments to the camera perspective, fresh voiceovers from returning actors, and more. It’s unclear yet how these changes will collectively impact the overall feel of the game.
Excitingly, I’m looking forward to the fact that I’ll be diving back into the world of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, as it’s being crafted for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC! However, we don’t have a release date set just yet.
