Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Producer Responds to Release Date Questions

As a dedicated Metal Gear fan with over two decades of stealthy gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel like Hideo Kojima himself when it comes to the elusive release date of “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.” The anticipation is palpable, and yet, Konami remains as tight-lipped as a guard in the Shadow Moses facility.

Konami has addressed the uncertainty surrounding when we can expect the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. While there’s been plenty of hype for the game remake throughout 2024, Konami has been rather quiet about its launch schedule. This silence has left Metal Gear fans questioning whether the game will be out by 2025. Now, those managing the project have given a bit more information without revealing exact details.

In an interview with Famitsu, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s production producer Noriaki Okamura and creative producer Yuji Korekado were directly asked about the game’s release date. However, they remained cautious about revealing it as Konami is still not ready to disclose the launch details. They did mention that the development team of Snake Eater wants to make sure that once the release date is announced, there will be minimal chances of any further delays.

Okamura stated that while the game is currently playable from start to finish, there’s no need to anticipate a long completion time. The crucial aspect of its development is ensuring fans aren’t let down; they aim to wrap it up thoroughly before making a definitive release date announcement.

According to Korekado, game development isn’t always smooth sailing, making it challenging to describe. However, we have a clear vision of our objective, and we’re simply filling in the remaining pieces.

It’s surprising that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater doesn’t yet have a set release date given that Konami has been taking pre-orders for months. In fact, they’ve even offered a Collector’s Edition of the game at various retailers. Usually, such actions are taken only after an official release date (or at least a release window) has been announced. However, it seems that Konami is choosing to handle this situation in a unique way compared to their usual practices.

Whenever Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater graces us with its presence, it’s no secret that a remake is under development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Fingers crossed that we’ll get more information about its release before the year 2024 wraps up.
