As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours navigating through the dense jungles of the Russian wilderness and outsmarting enemies in the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, this new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has me absolutely thrilled! The nostalgia is real as I see familiar faces like Nikolai Sokolov, The Boss, Colonel Volgin, and Ocelot.
At Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2024 transmission, Konami unveiled a fresh trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The highly-awaited remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater hasn’t set a release date yet, but enthusiasts receive the next finest option: Additional character disclosures. Take a look at it below (courtesy of GameSpot).
The trailer showcases more from Virtuous Mission, the opening gambit where Naked Snake must retrieve Nikolai Sokolov, the creator of the Shagohad. The latter is seen, but before Snake can extract Sokolov, he encounters The Boss, his mentor. Their reunion unfortunately goes wrong as she’s revealed to be a traitor.
In the scene that follows, Colonel Volgin makes an appearance alongside Ocelot displaying his impressive marksmanship. Eventually, Snake finds himself in a perilous situation where he is left for dead, but fortunately, he manages to make it through. Additionally, there’s a brief glimpse of EVA, a secretive agent who plays a significant role later on in the narrative.
The classic game, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, is making a comeback on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC (with PS5 Pro compatibility as well). Although no specific release date has been announced yet, Konami guarantees that it’s fully playable from beginning to end without having to wait years. Keep an eye out for gameplay previews and further details during the Tokyo Game Show in the near future.
