It appears that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater could be launching on August 28, 2025. This information comes from a trailer that surfaced prematurely on the PlayStation Network (PSN), hinting at its planned release across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5 platforms.
As I compose this text, the mobile version of the PlayStation App appears to indicate that the game will be released on August 28th. This suggests that within the coming weeks, we might receive an official announcement regarding the same.
Konami is making a bit of a comeback
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is essentially a revamped version of the initial Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, crafted by Virtuos and Konami using Unreal Engine 5. This project, announced in May 2023 during the final PlayStation Showcase, was selected because although it’s the third game in the original series, it’s the first story-wise.
2024 saw a resurfacing of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater during an Xbox presentation, unveiling enhanced gameplay and visuals. However, Konami remained tight-lipped about its release date. Apart from this remastered version, Konami has been actively reviving the Metal Gear Solid series by releasing Master Collection Vol. 1, offering gamers the opportunity to enjoy classic versions of these games on contemporary systems.
2024 saw the return of Konami’s Silent Hill series in a big way, as the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober hit PlayStation 5 and PC to widespread critical praise. The remake has been financially successful, having sold over two million copies thus far.
Is a PlayStation State of Play on the way?
Based on the leak of trailers and release dates from PSN, it seems quite possible that a PlayStation State of Play event might take place within the following days or weeks. It will certainly be intriguing to find out about any other announcements they may make.
Beyond just verifying the release date, I am confident we will witness a major upgrade for Bungie’s Marathon, a multi-platform game with significant anticipation from Sony. Interestingly, this is another game that was initially unveiled during PlayStation’s presentation in 2023.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but eagerly anticipate news about additional PlayStation Studios games making their way onto Windows PC. However, with the exciting arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the pool of potential titles has noticeably shrunk compared to what it once was.
