By adding Metal Sonic to Sonic the Hedgehog 4, a character from the comics can now make its way into the movie franchise. In the upcoming installment, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, characters like Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Amy Rose will be featured. Amy Rose was previously introduced in the post-credits scene of Sonic 3. While it’s expected that Amy might become part of Team Sonic, Metal Sonic, who appeared at the end of the third movie, seems destined to play the antagonist role in the fourth film.
In the Sonic series, Metal Sonic is widely recognized as one of the main antagonists. Given that Ivo Robotnik appeared to meet his end at the close of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, it seems fitting that he would be the chief adversary in the upcoming fourth film. After all, Sonic and Ivo have been locked in conflict since the beginning of the series. However, a twist occurred during the finale of the third movie when Ivo turned against Gerald Robotnik. Since Ivo experienced redemption there, it leaves room for another Sonic villain to take center stage in Sonic 4, and Metal Sonic seems like an excellent candidate for this role.
Metal Sonic Could Introduce Roboticization To The Sonic Movies
Metal Sonic Is A Ruthless Robot In The Franchise
As a film enthusiast, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the post-credit scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. In this sequence, our speedy hero, Sonic, accidentally overshot the mark during a race with Knuckles and Tails, ending up lost in the woods. To his astonishment, he was soon encircled by an army of Metal Sonics, eerily identical to himself. Just when all hope seemed lost, the ever-reliable Amy Rose swooped in to save the day, dispatching the robots with her trusty piko piko hammer. This exciting scene hints at a significant role for Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, but I have a feeling that Metal Sonic won’t call off his pursuit so easily.
In the world of video games, Metal Sonic was engineered by Dr. Robotnik and boasts the uncanny ability to mimic Sonic’s talents, making him a formidable foe for the speedy hero. Being a robot, Metal Sonic lacks emotions and shows no mercy, earning him the reputation of a relentless adversary. In the movie adaptations, the origin of Metal Sonic remains unclear, but it is plausible that Dr. Robotnik constructed an entire legion of robots before finding redemption and sacrificing himself for mankind’s survival.
Metal Sonic Could Introduce Roboticization To The Sonic Movies
Characters Could Be Turned Into Robots In Sonic The Hedgehog 4
Given that Metal Sonic, a crucial character from the Sonic franchise, made his movie debut in “Sonic the Hedgehog,” it’s reasonable to speculate that “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” might delve into the theme of roboticization. This theme was initially introduced in the Sonic comic series, which spanned from 1993 to 2017. In these comics, roboticization refers to the transformation of an organic being into a robot, often achieved through a device called a Roboticizer, a tool infamously misused by Ivo Robotnik.
During the process of becoming mechanized, every part of a character is swapped out for mechanical counterparts, granting them enhanced strength and other capabilities. In the comic books, notable characters like Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Shadow, Amy Rose, and many others have undergone this transformation, earning them the title of Roboticized Masters. Given that these characters were all introduced in the movie series, there’s a chance they may become mechanized in Sonic the Hedgehog 4.
Roboticization Could Allow Robotnik To Live On Without Jim Carey
Ivo Robotnik Has Appeared In Every Sonic The Hedgehog Movie
Though Jim Carrey may no longer actively act as an actor, he’s made appearances as Ivo Robotnik in every “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie. Despite Ivo’s apparent demise in “Sonic 3”, there are possibilities for his return in “Sonic the Hedgehog 4”. One such possibility is that if Ivo Robotnik is indeed the creator of Metal Sonic, as portrayed in video games and comic books, then he might already possess a Roboticizer.
If things turn out as suggested, the character portrayal of Ivo Robotnik we’ve seen in three films might be swapped for a robotic version. Given that he would be transformed into a robot, the roboticization process could theoretically undo the progress Ivo made at the end of Sonic 3. Thus, this new robotic version of Ivo Robotnik could hypothetically reappear as the antagonist in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, aligning with Metal Sonic to confront Team Sonic.
