How to Beat Guptauros the Minotaur | Bullish Embargo Quest
In the game Metaphor: ReFantazio, when you encounter the “Bullish Embargo” quest early on, your strategy options against the minotaur-like creature, Grotesque Guptauros, are rather limited. Consequently, it’s advisable to choose Archetypes such as Seeker, Warrior, and Knight for this battle. It’s better not to include Healers or Mages in your team, as they may provoke Guptauros, making the fight more challenging than necessary!
In terms of the team makeup, it’s important to have at least one Knight and one Warrior. If you want to maximize damage and tanking capabilities, consider having two Knights. However, if you need more buffing power with Tarukaja, a Seeker could be beneficial as your third character. On a personal note, I would suggest having 2 Knights and 1 Warrior for optimal performance.
Even though you can’t recruit Healers or Mages, it’s beneficial to advance the Healer Archetype to Rank 3 so you can acquire Medi, a party-wide healing ability. Having at least one character with this skill will significantly improve the fight’s difficulty! Your Warrior could be an excellent candidate for acquiring Medi in this scenario.

Inheriting Blizz from the Rank 2 Mage Archetype is also a good idea, as it will let you exploit the Guptauros’ Ice weakness. However, it’s not essential since you can exploit its Pierce weakness with regular attacks from the Knight Archetype. Still, it can help speed up the fight!

During the fight, concentrate on capitalizing on the Guptauros’ vulnerability to Pierce attacks using your Knights. The “Jump Thrust” Synergy Ability, which becomes available when pairing a Knight and a Warrior, will be your primary means of inflicting damage. Additionally, feel free to resort to standard Lance weapon strikes as needed.
In addition to attacking, don’t forget to frequently utilize the Medi ability to maintain maximum Health (HP) for your whole party. If necessary, use items to heal, but always make certain that everyone in your group stays healthy!
Consider positioning one of your Knights at the rear line and employ Knight’s Proclamation whenever feasible. Following this action, have that Knight assume a Guard stance. This way, they can withstand the onslaught of Guptauros, thus enhancing the survival chances of your party members.

Another option is to completely neutralize his attack boost by employing Tinned Torpors, provided you have sufficient resources. Keep in mind that buffs and debuffs can accumulate up to three times in this game!
Apart from a few adjustments, the strategy against the Guptauros remains constant throughout the battle. Continue using Jump Thrust and Pierce attacks, while making sure your team is always well-healed.
