The richly detailed world and the engaging narrative have already piqued my interest, but it’s the unique twist on party management that truly sets this game apart.
In the captivating world of Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio, I found myself navigating the political landscape and choosing my allegiance among the election candidates. Yet, it’s not just me alone; companions from various parties join my journey too. As revealed in the recent Atlus Showcase video, these supporters won’t engage in combat directly, but they offer valuable access to Archetypes instead, adding an extra layer of strategy to my quest for the throne.
Among them are Brigitta, who operates an ignitor business and bestows the Merchant Archetype upon completion of her task. This archetype offers additional battle rewards and entry to Brigitta’s shop. Next is Maria, situated in the Royal Capital’s Quiet Honeybee Inn, granting the Healer Archetype when you collect sufficient souvenirs from your journeys. Lastly, Bardon, a Captain met in Martira, imparts the Commander Archetype following assistance with his predicaments.
Alonzo is similarly situated and offers a quest that stirs the Faker character within. Additionally, you encounter Catherina, who shifts from being an adversary to forming an alliance with the main character, thereby releasing the Brawler persona. As relationships deepen, Archetypes progress and acquire fresh capabilities.
Director Katsura Hashino announced that the upcoming Atlus Showcase will detail the travel-like experience and routine tasks players need to perform. Metaphorically speaking: ReFantazio is set to release on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
