Metaphor: ReFantazio Showcase Highlights Bounties, Informants, and Brilehaven

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the rich narratives and captivating worlds of Atlus games, I can confidently say that Metaphor: ReFantazio, under the masterful direction of Katsura Hashino, promises to be an unforgettable journey. The sheer scale and depth of activities available within this game are truly breathtaking – from bungee jumping in Martira to fishing for dinner in Brilehaven’s seafood restaurants (because who doesn’t love a good inexplicable mechanic?).

In case there’s any doubt, Studio Zero’s “Metaphor: ReFantazio,” helmed by Katsura Hashino of “Persona 5” fame, is a colossal game. Amidst all the battles and activities, a recent Atlus Showcase shines a light on the various activities players can engage in while traversing the world. Take a look at it below.

Following their departure from the Grand City, the main character along with their companions eventually reach Martira, an ancient castle settlement. Here, they have the opportunity to participate in thrilling activities such as bungee jumping and boost their virtues (which unlock fresh tasks). Additionally, Bounties can be accepted for the elimination of monsters, fostering relationships with allies, or enhancing oneself through additional missions.

When conversing with Informants, they’ll share details about monsters’ behavior and possibly unveil fresh locations. On the other hand, engaging with King’s Rocks helps assess your position in the Royal Tournament. This ranking grows as the narrative unfolds, but certain quests can also boost it even more.

For the first time, we’re introduced to a new destination, Brilehaven. This charming port town features seafood eateries where you might even catch a fish or two, an array of taverns and inns, and even a Coliseum hinting at exciting activities. You can also explore the town by boat, although mysterious water globules float ominously in the distance. As the story unfolds, more of the town becomes accessible.

Perplexed individuals can choose to consult with their fairy ally, Gallica, or explore Traveler’s Voices, a platform where you can find out what other players have experienced and done in their journey.

On October 11th, ReFantazio is set to debut on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. You can catch a glimpse of it at Tokyo Game Show 2024, where a special demo will be featured. The next Atlus Showcase is scheduled for this Fall. For more information about its other locations and the newly unveiled Eupha, follow this link.
