Metro Boomin Reflects on Working With WWE and Cody Rhodes for Bad Blood

As a seasoned gamer who’s witnessed the rise and fall of countless wrestling franchises, I can confidently say that the return of WWE Bad Blood is like hearing the familiar theme song of my youth echoing through the halls of time. Having grown up watching the likes of Cody Rhodes and his contemporaries battle it out in the squared circle, I’m beyond thrilled to see this iconic event make a comeback, especially with the musical genius of Metro Boomin on board.

In October, WWE will revive one of their classic events from the early 2000s, though it was short-lived. The event, named WWE Bad Blood, will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, where Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes resides. To announce this, Cody Rhodes was accompanied by multi-Grammy Award-nominated record producer Metro Boomin. They sat inside a car outside the State Farm Arena, the venue for the event’s grand finale. While specific details about Metro Boomin’s role weren’t disclosed, it’s known that the song “GTA” from Future and Metro Boomin will serve as the night’s theme music.

In a conversation with Variety, Metro shared insights about collaborating with the WWE champion who recently defended his title at SummerSlam against Solo Sikoa. During this event, Roman Reigns made an unexpected comeback and despite assisting Rhodes, he hinted that their rivalry isn’t over yet. Regarding their partnership, Metro expressed, “Working with WWE legend and current undisputed champion Cody Rhodes on reviving the legendary ‘Bad Blood’ in Atlanta, Georgia was a dream come true for me as a long-time WWE fan. Cody’s journey is an inspiration to me, and I can’t wait until October 5th so everyone can witness what we’ve been creating!”

For many years, WWE has been attuned to popular culture trends, crafting iconic instances with well-known celebrities and musicians such as Cyndi Lauper, Pamela Anderson, Muhammad Ali, Ashanti, Bad Bunny, Alice Cooper, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne, Motorhead, and others. Recently, WWE extended an invitation to Jelly Roll, whose song “Dead End Road” served as the theme for SummerSlam in Cleveland.

Previously, he had competed in WWE events, but this time around, he took things to an entirely new level. He delivered Austin Theory a version of John Cena’s signature Five Knuckle Shuffle and even executed a one-handed choke slam. Additionally, Cleveland native Machine Gun Kelly was present to support Logan Paul in his title bout. In the past, Machine Gun Kelly has performed on WWE stages, experiencing a powerbomb through a table at the hands of Kevin Owens in 2015.

There haven’t been any confirmed matches yet for Bad Blood, but given that Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley have a heated feud following SummerSlam, and with Ripley expressing her desire to fight Morgan in a Hell in a Cell match during the SummerSlam press conference, it seems likely that something involving these two will unfold.
