Nintendo, along with developers at Retro Studios, have unveiled “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Version” for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This game is set to release in the year 2025.
Those who possess or buy the initial game for Nintendo Switch will have the opportunity to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Version by acquiring the game’s upgrade pack from either the Nintendo eShop, My Nintendo Store, or physical retailers. Once upgraded, the original Nintendo Switch game can still be played on your Nintendo Switch, but only the features and content of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will function on the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will feature the following upgrades:
- Support for mouse controls using Joy-Con 2 controllers.
- Enhanced resolution, textures and load times.
- Choose from two display modes:
- Quality Mode runs at 60 frames per second in 4K resolution in TV mode / 1080p while in handheld mode.
- Performance Mode runs at 120 frames per second in 1080p resolution in TV mode / 720p in handheld mode.
- Both display modes feature HDR support.
