Metroid Prime 4 Fans Think an Announcement Is Happening Soon

As a long-time fan of the Metroid series, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and impatience as we inch closer to the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. It’s been a rollercoaster ride since its initial announcement back in 2017, with delays, developer changes, and finally, some glimpses of gameplay this year.

The long-awaited game, “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond,” seems to be nearing its conclusion. Earlier this year, Nintendo officially announced that it will hit the shelves in 2025. However, details about the game have been scarce since June. Recently, fans have been speculating that more information might be on the horizon. This speculation arises from an update to Nintendo’s official Metroid website, which now includes information about “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.” While there’s no new information, the site revamp could signal that an announcement is imminent.

It’s quite plausible that we might hear some news about Metroid Prime 4 at The Game Awards next month. Given its nomination for “Most Anticipated Game” and the show’s history of hosting Nintendo announcements (like Bayonetta Origins and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3), it seems like an ideal opportunity to unveil a new trailer or even a release date. Precedent aside, such an announcement could pave the way for a major Switch 2 reveal in early 2025. However, let’s keep in mind that this is all speculation at this point!

Metroid Prime 4 Fans Think an Announcement Is Happening Soon

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the release of Metroid Prime 4 ever since its initial announcement back in 2017, during the Nintendo Switch’s first year on the market. Just like many other Switch games, Nintendo kept the developer under wraps initially, only confirming that Retro Studios wouldn’t be returning for this fourth series installment.

2025 promises an exciting year for Nintendo enthusiasts! Already confirmed for release are “Donkey Kong Country Returns HD” in January and “Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition” in March. Moreover, it’s expected that Nintendo will reveal its new console during this period, although the exact launch date is yet to be announced. The anticipation builds as fans speculate about whether major releases like “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond” and “Pokemon Legends: Z-A,” slated for 2025, will appear on both the current Switch and the new console. It’s also unknown if the upcoming “Switch 2” will offer enhanced performance for existing games or if any titles will be optimized to take advantage of the new system’s capabilities.

Regardless of whether Nintendo makes a Metroid Prime 4 announcement next month, or a little bit later, we basically have to be getting information sometime soon. Hopefully after all this time the game will prove worth the wait!
