MH Wilds: How to Watch Cutscenes

In Monster Hunter World, each mission comes with a cutscene that provides additional story context beyond the dialogues during your Palico’s (Seikret) rides. If you’re pressed for time or aiming to quickly complete the main game and access High Rank grinding, you might prefer to bypass these cutscenes to save on time.

If you choose to bypass certain cinematic scenes or simply wish to revisit your preferred ones later, you’re free to do so at any time. Here’s a simple guide on how to replay past cutscenes and also move ahead quickly if you’re keen on getting straight to the combat.

How To Rewatch Old Cutscenes In Monster Hunter Wilds

You have the ability to replay any scene you’ve previously viewed within the story at your convenience, but before doing so, make sure to save your progress and exit the game. To access the main menu, you can either navigate to it using the ‘Title Screen’ option from the primary menu or by closing and restarting the game altogether. Upon returning to the title screen, you will encounter the main menu where “Gallery” is located as the second option from the top.

As a devoted fan, I can guide you on how to access the captivating cutscenes in my game. Simply choose your preferred save file to bring up a list of all the available cutscenes. Unfortunately, there isn’t a chapter list or quest names associated with these scenes, but rest assured, each one will have a title and brief description that should give you an idea of what awaits you. Enjoy the journey!

In the game, your character will show up exactly as they are right now, with the weapon and armor you’re currently using on them.

How To Pause & Skip Cutscenes In Monster Hunter Wilds

As a gamer, when I’m caught up in a cutscene, whether it’s during gameplay or in the Gallery, I can always take control by pausing or even skipping the scene. To do so, simply press any button to bring up the pause menu with both options displayed at the top right corner of my screen.

Console Pause Skip
PlayStation R3 Hold Touchpad
PC Control Hold Tab
Xbox LT Hold Share

In some instances, multiple scenes may follow each other without giving you the option to jump ahead all at once. However, pressing the designated button will simply advance to the next scene, helping you move through the cutscene more swiftly. Since you can always revisit the story in a separate section called the Gallery later, skipping cutscenes now might make you momentarily unsure about the origin of the current monster, should you choose to rewind and catch up later.
