Michael Bay Denies Directing ‘Skibidi Toilet’ Movie Amid Online Rumors

It has been claimed by various sources over the past week that Michael Bay is working on a movie based on the viral sensation, Skibidi Toilet. However, the director of Transformers has since disputed these reports, stating that none of his current projects contain the term “skibidi,” contradicting online speculation which emerged last year about him developing Skibidi for both film and television.

Over the weekend, Bay shared a video on Instagram (which you can see below) reminding us all about the importance of not blindly trusting information found online. This advice comes shortly after the director hinted at an upcoming movie titled “Skibidi Toilet” on his social media accounts, leading some to speculate that he might be creating buzz by keeping the project in the spotlight. In his video, Bay said, “You know how your parents always told you, ‘Don’t believe everything you read online.’

Last night, I was online, and I found some information suggesting that I am in charge of a project. Although I do have a project I’m working on, it is not the one that people seem to be repeatedly discussing.

Bay then displayed a table filled with various screenplays, explaining: “These scripts represent numerous movies currently in development. One is deeply in production preparation, another is loosely prepared, one I’m working on writing, and two I’m about to produce. However, none of these contain ‘Skibidi.’ So, let’s put an end to the speculation for now, you have it straight from me.

‘Skibidi Toilet’ Is a Viral Sensation

News circulated last year about Michael Bay and ex-president of Paramount Pictures Adam Goodman discussing the adaptation of Skibidi Toilet, but since then, there hasn’t been much news until recently. This offbeat animated series, initially released on YouTube in 2023, rapidly gained popularity among Generation Alpha due to its unpredictability and humor, amassing billions of views. The brief clips depict a conflict between toilets with human heads sprouting from their basins and humanoid characters with device-headed counterparts. Given Bay’s affinity for action and absurdity, this series seems like it could be perfect for him, doesn’t it?

It’s possible that Michael Bay’s statement of not being in charge of the project is merely a disguise, or it could be accurate since he might not necessarily be the one operating the camera. The confusion may have arisen from how the information was presented initially, leading Bay to clarify things further. Given the numerous screenplays we’ve seen him working on recently, including the much-anticipated Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie, he seems to have a lot on his plate at the moment.

It seems unlikely that a “Skibidi Toilet” film will be released in theaters anytime soon, so it might be wise not to hold your breath about it. In the meantime, you can indulge yourself with Gerasimov’s 78 episodes on YouTube. As for Bay, his latest action thriller titled “Ambulance” can be streamed on Peacock.
