Over time, Zsa-Zsa draws Bjørn from the sidelines, introducing us to a quiet yet talkative character. Bjørn is a Norwegian entomologist and new tutor to Zsa-Zsa and her nine sons. His handling of insects, his spontaneous sharing of knowledge, and his unwavering reaction to Zsa-Zsa’s absurd situations give strong indications that Bjørn is reminiscent of a typical Wes Anderson character. With his amusing dynamic with many of the supporting characters during Zsa-Zsa’s travels to secure financing for her new business, Bjørn embodies many traits often seen in classic Wes Anderson roles.

In the movie, Bjørn’s spontaneous comments add depth to Michael Cera’s performance, whether it’s alongside Riz Ahmed’s Prince Farouk or Mathieu Amalric’s character, Marseille Bob. At a discussion after the showing of his movie at Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn on May 29th, Director Wes Anderson shared his aspiration to collaborate with Jason Schwartzman, who had caught his attention during David Lynch’s TV series “Twin Peaks: The Return.” In this production, Schwartzman portrayed Wally Brando, a character inspired by Marlon Brando and his role in “The Wild One” film. Despite their distinct directing styles, both directors saw promise in Schwartzman that could make him an excellent fit for any of Anderson’s future projects.
