Michelle Pfeiffer to Star in Yellowstone Spinoff Madison

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience navigating various universes and storylines, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and curiosity about the upcoming “Madison” series from Taylor Sheridan. Having grown up on the gripping tales of the Wild West, I’ve always been captivated by the raw, unfiltered grit that these stories offer. However, the prospect of a modern-day Yellowstone spinoff, set in the heart of Montana and led by the talented Michelle Pfeiffer, presents an intriguing twist to the formula.

Actress Michelle Pfeiffer, who played a role in “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” is set to lead “Madison,” a new series spinoff of “Yellowstone” produced by Taylor Sheridan. The three-time Academy Award nominee will not only star but also serve as executive producer on this New York City family’s relocation story to Montana. Initially titled “2024,” the setting appears to be modern times, although it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed yet. If set in contemporary times, it could mark a significant departure from other “Yellowstone” shows, which are typically set during the Civil War and Great Depression eras.

According to Variety’s report, Paramount announced that their upcoming series focuses on a family living in the Madison River valley of central Montana, which is a stark contrast to New York City. The series is described as an emotional exploration of grief and relationships. Initially, discussions were underway with Matthew McConaughey for the lead role, but it’s unclear if this is still the case.

Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, praised Michelle Pfeiffer as an exceptional actress who brings emotional depth, sincerity, and elegance to each role she plays. He stated that she is ideally suited to star in the latest installment of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, created by the talented Taylor Sheridan.

The latest spinoff announcement arrives as Paramount gears up for the final episodes of its hit series, “Yellowstone,” airing in November. Despite being instrumental in turning the show into a pop culture sensation, series lead Kevin Costner won’t feature in the upcoming episodes due to an unresolved deal with Paramount. Already boasting two successful spinoffs — “1883” and “1923” — additional shows set within the same universe are rumored to be in the works at Paramount.

In the near future, individuals associated with the Yellowstone universe are planning western and neo-western projects. While Kevin Costner recovers from the poor box office performance of Horizon: An American Saga Part One, he’s exploring possibilities for releasing the remaining parts. On the other hand, Taylor Sheridan is developing Landman, and preparing a second season for Tulsa King, a crime/comedy/drama starring Sylvester Stallone, which can both be found on Paramount+.

The series “Madison” is a collaboration between MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. The executive producers for this production are Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Keith Cox.
