Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, famously recognized for her characters as Georgina Sparks on ‘Gossip Girl’ and Dawn Summers on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, tragically passed away at age 39. Michelle Trachtenberg gained prominence as a young actress on the quirky Nickelodeon sitcom, “The Adventures of Pete & Pete“, portraying the character Nona F. Mecklenberg with a cast on her arm. Subsequently, she made her first big-screen appearance in the 1996 Nickelodeon film “Harriet the Spy“. Later, she starred as Penny Brown, Matthew Broderick’s niece in Disney’s “Inspector Gadget” movie (1999), and as ice skater Casey Carlyle in the 2005 Disney sports comedy film “Ice Princess“.
In her shift towards adult responsibilities, Trachtenberg, who was 18 at the time, appeared as Jenny in the 2004 comedy “Eurotrip”, a role that helped her move away from being seen as a childish character. Later, she portrayed pop star Celeste in HBO’s “Six Feet Under”, which further solidified this transition.
