Towards the closing scenes of the movie, Jamie Lee Curtis briefly appears, meeting up with her co-star from Everything Everywhere All at Once.
During the entire production process of Everything Everywhere All at Once, we instantly connected on our first day and this connection deepened over time, drawing us even nearer to each other, according to her remarks.
When we discovered that we had this unique opportunity, director Olatunde Osunsanmi and Alex Kurtzman exclaimed, ‘We have an ideal candidate in mind!’ To which I enthusiastically replied, ‘Absolutely!’ Then, I hesitated, thinking, ‘I don’t want to pressure her unnecessarily.’ But then her manager suggested, ‘Go ahead and propose it! You know she’s bold; she won’t shy away from a challenge.’
Indeed, I followed through, and I couldn’t be happier about it. You see, Jamie doesn’t take on projects casually; she’s committed only to what she wholeheartedly supports. Her dedication lies in the realm of Section 31 and Star Trek. Convincing her was more a formality than a challenge. The catch? She was recording herself. However, this didn’t deter her from making an extra effort to join us.
In order to effectively portray stories and characters convincingly, it’s crucial for a storyteller or actor to appreciate the nuances of both good and bad. After all, there can be no light without darkness, and life is not one-dimensional; it encompasses various shades. However, while immersing oneself in these roles, it’s essential to avoid method acting that might become excessively intense when dealing with such characters!
