I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! It appears that the tech world is abuzz with the announcement that Hayete Gallot, formerly my beloved Microsoft‘s corporate vice president over commercial solution areas, has decided to join forces with Google Cloud as their President of Customer Experience, starting April 1, 2025. This move promises a fascinating new chapter in the ongoing technological dance between these two giants!
As a tech enthusiast, I’m thrilled to step up as the head of this freshly established organization. My mission is to share Google’s groundbreaking innovations and AI expertise with customers worldwide. In this AI-driven age, there’s an increasing demand for guidance in transforming ideas into tangible business impacts swiftly. I can’t wait to unite the brilliant minds from our strategic accounts, customer engineering, consulting, partners, solutions, industries, and learning divisions – all to speed up our customers’ adoption of AI technologies and a multitude of other solutions we offer.
According to CRN, Google will place the following Google Cloud business groups under Gallot:
- Strategic Customer Experiences
- Strategic Accounts
- Global Solutions & Industries
- Global Customer Engineering
- Global Partner Ecosystem & Channels
- Google Cloud Consulting & Learning Services
Gallot will report to Google Cloud President of Global Revenue Matt Renner.
In many fields demanding specialized knowledge and prolonged tenure, prominent figures in tech industries frequently switch jobs. The pool of candidates qualified for a position like Google’s President of Customer Experience is rather limited. Gallot boasts nearly 16 years of experience in this role. Before his stint as Microsoft’s corporate vice president for commercial solution areas, Gallot held positions such as corporate vice president for work and security, vice president for the modern workplace and Microsoft solutions, and chief of staff to the president of Microsoft global sales and marketing.
In this particular scenario, I find myself reporting that a seasoned executive departed from Microsoft for Google. However, within the past week, our company managed to secure the services of three accomplished AI experts who previously worked at Google’s DeepMind. These individuals, Marco Tagliasacchi, Zalán Borsos, and Matthias Minderer, have recently joined Microsoft’s newly established AI office in Zurich, Switzerland – adding them to a growing list of employees who have chosen to transition from Google to Microsoft.
