Microsoft has recently rectified an issue which had taken away Copilot on certain Windows 11 devices. In light of this, many users, including me, playfully suggested that the problem might have been intentionally designed as a new feature.
Although I find Copilot beneficial, I feel that Microsoft is overly aggressive in trying to incorporate it into Windows 11. The addition of a Copilot button on PCs means losing a useful keyboard key for a tool that not all users find necessary.
After much anticipation and numerous petitions, I’m thrilled to witness that Microsoft has eventually granted users the ability to customize the Copilot key, a decision long overdue.
In addition to looking better, the updated Copilot app performs better and has more features.
In the recent build (version) 26100.3476 of Windows 11, a glitch was found that caused Copilot to be disabled in affected systems. This build had been distributed to users earlier in the month.
According to a Microsoft support document, there seems to be a problem with the Microsoft Copilot app on certain devices. The issue is that the app is inadvertently being removed and taken off the taskbar.
The revised document now states, “The problem has been resolved, and the affected gadgets are being restored to their initial condition. Additionally, you may re-download the app from the Microsoft Store and place it on your taskbar.
On Windows 11, Microsoft is developing a significant overhaul for the Copilot app. This upgrade will feature a locally installed version of the Copilot app instead of the current web-based interface.
I frequently utilize Copilot, and I value having options for users. Ideally, Microsoft could simplify the process of uninstalling Copilot from a computer.
After disabling Copilot, some users have reported that it came back on their system after a Windows software update.
