The long-awaited sequel to my beloved flight simulator seems to have hit a few turbulences upon takeoff, with complaints of lengthy loading times and server congestion.
The much-anticipated “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024” has finally been released on Xbox Series X/S and PC, as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. However, it appears there’s been a hitch at its launch, with many users complaining about extended initial loading times. Some players have also mentioned that the game gets stuck at over 90% loading without any further progress.
According to Microsoft’s official MSFS Support Twitter account, both Microsoft and Asobo Studio acknowledge the ongoing issues due to a high volume of users starting the simulator simultaneously. This leads to an excessive number of server requests. They are actively working to fix these problems as quickly as they can. If the initial load doesn’t exceed 90%, the account recommends simply restarting your device. In the absence of this, you may have to wait for the game to load normally.
The problems with this game are so prevalent that a majority of users on Steam (currently 18% out of 968 reviews) have given it a negative rating, with more negative reviews coming in.
