The next installation in Microsoft Flight Simulator series, namely Flight Simulator 2024, is in development. Asobo Studio, Xbox Game Studios, and multiple third-party collaborators are jointly crafting a more technologically advanced simulator compared to its predecessor, featuring an array of fresh activities such as a dedicated Career mode.

2024’s Microsoft Flight Simulator pre-orders are now live on both Xbox consoles and Windows PC! If you’re feeling uncertain about which edition of the game to purchase, don’t fret, I’m here to guide you. Check out this comprehensive guide that contains all the essential details you need.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: Edition differences

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2024, simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PC. Four standard editions of the game are currently up for pre-order: Standard, Deluxe, Premium Deluxe, and Aviator Edition. Additionally, a Collector’s Edition with more details is also available, scroll down to learn more about it.

The main difference between the four main editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are the aircraft and airports. The Standard Edition is $70, and it includes 70 aircraft and 150 upgraded airports. The Deluxe Edition is $100, packing in an extra 10 aircraft and five more upgraded airports. The Premium Deluxe Edition is $130, and it includes another 15 aircraft. This edition is available at physical retail, with a jumbo steel book and an Xbox Play Anywhere code for the game.

In summary, the Aviator Edition is priced at $200 and comes with an extra 30 planes that were previously released by Microsoft for their previous game. If you’re interested in knowing the specific planes featured in each edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, feel free to check out my comprehensive list detailing every aircraft available in the game.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Xbox Game Pass

Like its predecessor, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is an Xbox first-party game.

In essence, the Standard Edition of the game comes with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass right from its launch. This implies that anyone who is a subscriber can enjoy playing the game for as long as their subscription stays active, without any additional charges.

2024 will see Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 join a lineup of several Xbox exclusive games that are scheduled for release within the next year. Other anticipated titles include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 from Treyarch and Raven Software, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle by MachineGames, and Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, which are slated to arrive on the service in October 2024, December 2024, and February 2025 respectively.

2025 is expected to see the trend of major first-person games, such as DOOM: The Dark Ages and Fable, continuing, with both id Software and Playground Games working on their creation.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 preorder bonuses

Those who pre-order any version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will receive early access to the CL-415 aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This is a fun method for players to try out one of the upcoming planes before the new simulator is released.

Since this offer has a limited time, if it’s important for you, I strongly suggest you place your preorder as soon as possible.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Collector’s Edition

After I had the chance to go hands-on with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for a preview event and talk to the teams making it, I wrote that “”Even now, I’m fairly wet behind the ears when it comes to flight simulators, but everything I played was fun and challenging, and the global collaboration required to create this experience is genuinely awing. I’ll certainly be giving these flights another go when the game launches later this year.”
