While attempting to start Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on my computer via Xbox Game Pass, I was informed that an internet connection was required. However, I was already connected online.

As a fellow enthusiast, it seems we’re both encountering troubles. A swift glance at social media reveals a multitude of comparable reports, predominantly concerning Xbox, but also hinting at complications with services like Teams, Outlook, and the Microsoft Authenticator app.

As a devoted user, I’m finding that Down Detector, my go-to source for trustworthy crowd-sourced updates, paints a concerning picture today. A surge in reports of outages is flooding in from various platforms, including Xbox, Call of Duty (seems like the same hitch), Minecraft, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, and even the Microsoft Store.

It appears that many people are encountering a similar problem with their Xbox, as indicated by the image above. This issue seems to be related to the Xbox Network, which is experiencing difficulties in authenticating games and connecting to servers. This could suggest either a lack of internet connection or potential downtime on the Xbox Network itself.

I’d lean towards thinking it’s the second option. A problem with server downtime is that it often impacts your solo gaming experience too, since the console can’t confirm your ownership during such instances.
