Miles Teller may not be a top gun when it comes to flirting.
The actor from the movie “Divergent” – who married Keleigh Sperry Teller in 2019 – has shared the tale of how his long-lasting romance with the model started as an example of determination, spanning over a decade now.
In an exclusive chat with TopMob News at The Gorge premiere in LA on February 12th, Miles confessed that when he initially met her, she rejected him three times within the same night. However, he was proud of himself for persistently trying to win her over.
Despite ending up deeply in love after connecting at a 2013 Grammy Awards after-party, their romantic encounter was initially almost thwarted.
Miles, aged 37, explained, “Fortunately, the queue for the valet was extremely lengthy, which turned out to be beneficial. Unfortunately, I had no way of reaching her or knowing any information about her.
He added, “Now look at us, 12 years later.”
Initially, Keleigh, aged 32, was hesitant towards the actor from Top Gun: Maverick, but they quickly found a connection, which made him less apprehensive.
In a shared interview with Keleigh in 2017, he said to People magazine, “I believe I will stay with this girl for a significant period.
After spending four years together in a romantic relationship, they advanced to the next stage. During an African safari, Miles popped the question by offering a rose, which bore the significant dates of their relationship, along with a letter declaring “today marks the final day you awoke as my girlfriend.
And indeed it was.
Keleigh mentioned, “That picture of him kneeling with a teary eye just won’t leave me alone, it seems. He put a lot of thought into the details and was quite anxious!
Since Keleigh agreed and they tied the knot, Miles has been making use of every day to deepen his affection for his spouse, particularly on significant events.
On his October post (previously Twitter), he wished a happy birthday to his ‘dancing queen’, his beloved, the everlasting source of his joy and all good things in life. May I celebrate you each day I live on this earth, my dear one,” he wrote.
