After 35 years on The Simpsons, Milhouse’s voice has been changed with the finale of Season 36. Previously, Pamela Hayden had announced her retirement from the series last year, and fans got to see her final performances in a few episodes she recorded before leaving production. Hayden, who joined the show since its first season, marked one of the first significant departures among the original voice actors that have been with the series since its inception.

In “The Simpsons,” Hayden’s various roles were later replaced, starting with a past episode in Season 36 introducing Mo Collins as the voice actress for one of Hayden’s other characters, Jimbo Jones. The Simpsons Debuts New Milhouse Voice Actor

Prior to the finale of “The Simpsons” Season 36, it was confirmed that Kelly Macleod, a singer known for her work in rock bands like Private Life and The Sweet Potatoes, as well as her solo career, will be providing the voice for Milhouse Van Houten. Notably, Macleod has previously appeared on “The Simpsons” during Season 33’s episode “Bart the Cool Kid,” where she sang the song “Two Badges, One Mind.” This isn’t her first encounter with the long-running animated series.

In Macleod’s initial appearance on The Simpsons, it may not fully showcase the distinctive acting style she’ll display throughout her tenure as Milhouse. The season finale of Season 36 leaps 35 years ahead, where Bart and Lisa meet as adults after a perceived peril involving Homer. In this episode, Milhouse collaborates with Bart, but it’s an older incarnation of the character than what we’ll see in subsequent episodes.
