The creator behind Rocket Boy’s development team has shared that they plan to release an update for MindsEye later this week. In their announcement, they emphasize that their primary focus at the moment is enhancing the overall performance of MindsEye on all platforms. First, the PC version of the game will receive the update, and then the rollout will proceed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming update will bring some fantastic improvements to our favorite game! It’ll address performance issues by fine-tuning memory usage, enhancing CPU and GPU efficiency, and giving us control over the depth of field effect within the game. Plus, for PC gamers like myself, there will be pop-up alerts if we launch the game with certain features disabled or if our CPUs might not play nicely with it. Exciting times ahead!
Additionally, this update will enhance the mini-games within MindsEye, specifically by easing the challenge in the CPR game, addressing control problems in MineHunter, and rectifying control glitches in Run Dungeon.
Currently, our main focus is optimizing the game’s performance. We recognize that the demands are substantial and, unfortunately, this has resulted in a less enjoyable experience for quite a few of you. For this inconvenience, we deeply apologize.
Build A Rocket Boy has announced that this fix is just the beginning of a series of planned updates. Further details about these upcoming updates will be shared later, but for now, PC gamers can now use Build.MindsEye, which offers an array of creation tools directly within the game.
Earlier this week, it was mentioned that the studio is planning to work on an upgrade aimed at enhancing the game’s speed and efficiency, with a larger update, known as Update 3, in the works further down the line. On Reddit, the developer shared that their engineering team has been tirelessly working day and night to implement these performance improvements and incorporate newer features from Unreal Engine version 5.6.
The studio acknowledges that the present minimum specifications are rather demanding, however, their engineering team is tirelessly striving to enhance performance not just for high-end hardware and consoles, but also everyday systems, by incorporating performance upgrades from Unreal Engine V5.6.
Earlier this week, the game titled “MindsEye” made its debut on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. As I write this, reviews from critics have been varied. In our assessment, we awarded it a rating of 5 out of 10. We appreciated the stunning graphics but found fault with the monotonous gameplay and unresponsive enemy AI, along with other issues.
At the moment of release, the game “MindsEye” on Steam has a mixed overall rating, as only 40% of the 1,257 user reviews on its Steam page are positive. Regarding player count, it’s not been faring well either, with just 580 players simultaneously playing at the time of this writing, and a peak all-time concurrent player count of 3,302 when “MindsEye” was initially launched, as per SteamDB.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t predict exactly how these upcoming updates might affect the schedule laid out in the MindsEye roadmap, but I’m eager to see how they shape up and what exciting gameplay experiences they’ll bring!
