MindsEye Studio’s Co-CEO Believes There is a Concerted Effort to Finance Negativity Towards the Game

As developer Build A Rocket Boy steadily approaches the June 10 launch of its first game, MindsEye, co-CEO Mark Gerhard has expressed his thoughts about the relatively tepid and negative responses to the game’s marketing efforts on the official Discord server. According to Eurogamer, Gerhard suspects that these negative reactions to recent trailers prior to the game’s release might be part of a deliberate and organized attempt by an unidentified party with a vested interest in spreading negativity about the title.

In response to the question “Were all those who responded negatively likely funded by someone?”, Gerhard answered with a straightforward “Yes, absolutely.” Later on, he hinted at the possible culprit by saying “It’s not difficult to infer who might be behind it.

In his subsequent post, Gerhard expressed that certain individuals seem determined to prevent Leslie or Build A Rocket Boy from thriving, and they’re actively trying to discredit the game and the studio by posting negative comments. He also noted that it’s quite obvious when these automated accounts (bots) and repetitive responses are made to any content we release.

It’s important to point out that the marketing strategy for MindsEye has been perplexing. We’ve gone so far as to call it chaotic because, based on its trailers, it appears to be an ordinary shooter game with driving aspects. Given the impressive caliber of indie releases in recent times, we feel that MindsEye may face a challenge, particularly since the studio has taken longer to unveil more substantial trailers.

Discussing meatier previews, MindsEye unveiled a detailed trailer that offered a closer look at its driving mechanics and cover-based shooting gameplay. The sneak peek additionally highlighted the feature where players can control aircrafts, while providing additional insight into the storyline. In this narrative, protagonist Jacob Diaz journeys to Redrock City in an attempt to unravel the mysteries surrounding his memories.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Build A Rocket Boy has unveiled its post-launch content plans for our game! Expect new missions, exciting collaboration events, fresh game modes, multiplayer action, and enhancements to the free roam mode coming later this year.

Additionally, we’re rolling out a Premium Pass that offers an exclusive Horde Mode mission and an Exotic Pack loaded with additional cosmetics for our protagonist, the DC 2 Drone, and the Silva vehicle. Can’t wait to see you all in-game!
