As a dedicated fan of Miranda Lambert, I fully support her stance on creating a distraction-free environment during her concerts. Her passion for her music and connection with her audience is undeniable, and it’s clear that she wants to ensure everyone present is fully immersed in the experience.
Miranda Lambert doesn’t want anyone staying in to fight at her concert.
Instead, she urged the crowd at Montana’s Under the Big Sky Festival on July 13 for them to stay late and give their full focus to the performances.
“Has the arguing stopped in that spot, Miranda wondered aloud in a video posted online? It’s never acceptable to quarrel, especially the women who lose control. Let’s applaud everyone for being patient, I’ll hang in there.”
Immediately prior, the 40-year-old also called out the audience at large for not paying attention.
“If you’ve got your head turned in the wrong direction, which is this way (pointing at herself), then perhaps it would be best if you didn’t come to visit,” she suggested. “But if you’re here for some country music and beer, ready to let loose and cause a ruckus, then we’ve got that covered tonight. Agreed?”
On social media, there was a varied response to the “Somethin’ Bad” singer’s callout, with some people expressing their disapproval of her actions.
“If I use my own funds to attend a performance, I can take a nap if I want to; why should it concern her?!” A user commented this, while another mentioned, “We departed before she came on stage … once held her in high regard. Didn’t fancy being scolded, so we laughed and left.”
There were also others, however, who supported Miranda’s callout.
“It’s too bad more people don’t value music as highly as they value their phones. Take time to savor the present moment,” one user commented. The other replied, “Let her have her say! I don’t care, I’m a huge fan.”
A TikTok user similarly noted that this isn’t the initial occasion Miranda has interrupted a performance to address unacceptable fan actions.
About a year ago, during her “Tin Man” concert in her Las Vegas residency, the country singer paused to speak with a cluster of fans as they snapped a selfie.
At the July 2023 concert, Miranda expressed her annoyance in a TikTok video, remarking, “These girls are preoccupied with taking a selfie and not paying attention to the music. I can’t help but get a bit irritated.”
She added, “We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”
Despite the numerous fans who continued to cheer in the video, a small group of fans were observed leaving the venue as Miranda went back on stage. One fan was even heard shouting, “Come on, you shouldn’t treat fans like that.”
After the controversial event went viral, Adela Calin spoke up to NBC News, expressing her shock and dismay over Miranda’s remark as one of the affected concertgoers.
She reminisced about being reprimanded at school, with the teacher sternly admonishing her for making a mistake and ordering her to return to her seat. It seemed as if this woman was intent on belittling us, portraying us as petulant and frivolous. However, we were nothing more than mature women in our 30s to 60s, merely attempting to capture a moment with a photograph.
I, as a lifestyle expert, understand that capturing a great photo can be quite challenging, especially when dealing with tricky lighting conditions. Adela and her team encountered this issue before the show began, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure “the perfect shot” despite our best efforts.
I still remember that thrilling moment with a gleam in my eyes. We had managed to secure the finest seats in the entire theater for ourselves. What a treat!
