Missile Command Delta announced for PS5, Switch, and PC

Publisher Atari and developers Mighty Yell and 13AM Games have announced Missile Command Delta, a reimagining of Atari’s 1980s missile defense arcade classic as a turn-based tactical game, for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2025.

In a press release, Atari’s vice president of games, Ethan Stearns, stated that “Missile Command Delta” offers a fresh take on gameplay while preserving the intense and suspenseful atmosphere of the classic arcade version. He emphasized that players must make strategic decisions carefully as even one wrong move can have serious consequences.

Stearns continued, “Missile Command Delta has a little something for every kind of player—whether you love strategy tactics games, are a mystery fan, a secret hunting completionist, or you just love to explore and solve puzzles. We can’t wait for players to get their hands on the game later this year.”

As players delve deeper into the ancient, half-century old complex, they’ll find themselves surrounded by dilapidated rooms, rusty machinery, gigantic mainframe computers, and activated missile command consoles. The players must fend off waves of incoming missiles from an unidentified enemy using a variety of missiles, each with distinct types, ranges, and destructive power. To successfully clear the skies above, they’ll need to strategically manage their missile supply.

Under heightened aggression and escalating tension, bonds will be stretched to their limits, making it difficult to distinguish fact from fiction and whom to rely on. Should they prevail, they might uncover the true nature of this secretive Cold War defensive operation.
