MLB The Show 25 Confirmed to Fix MLB The Show 24’s Biggest Complaint

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the changes announced for MLB The Show 25 have me genuinely excited. After feeling a bit let down by some limitations in Diamond Dynasty within MLB The Show 24, the decision to do away with Seasons and Sets is nothing short of refreshing.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about the MLB The Show franchise! Directly from the creators at San Diego Studio, they’ve acknowledged and promised to address the major concerns that many players, including me, had with MLB The Show 24 for the upcoming MLB The Show 25. Although it remains one of the top sports franchises annually, MLB The Show 24 faced a tad more criticism than its predecessors. A significant portion of this backlash stemmed from Diamond Dynasty and the restrictions it imposed on players when acquiring new cards. Thankfully, the structure of Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 24 will be revamped for the next version!

In a recent update on the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that MLB The Show 25 will eliminate Sets and Seasons entirely. Previously in MLB The Show 24, the Diamond Dynasty mode only allowed cards to be used across different game modes within each specific Season. This meant that any cards players unlocked during Season 1 would gradually lose value as new Seasons were introduced. As a result, many players stopped playing as the game progressed with its annual live-service support. By removing Seasons and Sets in MLB The Show 25, it is hoped to enhance the gaming experience for many players.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that we value your feedback and have made a decision for MLB The Show 25. In this upcoming edition, Sets and Seasons won’t be coming back, which means you can freely use every card throughout the year without any restrictions! While we can’t spill all the beans about our live content plans just yet for MLB The Show 25, our approach with Season 4 gives you a sneak peek into where we’re heading with this game.

For this purpose, San Diego Studio has disclosed that players of MLB The Show 24 can start gathering new items from today, November 22nd, which will carry over to MLB The Show 25 upon its release next year. This collection process initiates tomorrow and will introduce “Now & Later” packs. Cards earned from these packs can be utilized in The Show 24 immediately, while they will also be accessible as soon as The Show 25 is launched.

At this moment, we don’t have a precise date for when MLB The Show 25 will become available. So far, San Diego Studio hasn’t disclosed any details about its release, including the launch date, platforms, or the cover athlete. It’s expected that we might start hearing more about the game in the early part of 2025.
