Before it hits shelves next month, the initial gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 25 has been unveiled. Every new edition of MLB The Show sees developer San Diego Studio incorporating several fresh features at the players’ behest. Thanks to this latest trailer, we now have a clearer picture of the upcoming additions in MLB The Show 25 and the ex-MLB stars who will grace the series for the first time.
In a tad over two minutes, the debut trailer for MLB The Show 25 showcases not just its enhanced graphics, but also underscores several aspects where this year’s version surpasses MLB The Show 24. One significant addition to Road to the Show, which is the create-a-player mode for MLB The Show 25, is the ability to play high school and college baseball. This new feature in Road to the Show will be complemented by a revamped progression system and novel quick time events that are integrated into the gameplay.
In the realm of Diamond Dynasty, MLB The Show 25 has announced it’s getting rid of Sets and Seasons, a change that San Diego Studio confirmed some time ago. On top of this, they are also introducing two fresh game types: Diamond Quest and Weekend Classic. The former, Diamond Quest, is described as an engaging board game-style mode with elements of risk and reward. In contrast, Weekend Classic sets players against each other for unique prizes.
Naturally, San Diego Studio has made some enhancements to the overall gameplay of MLB The Show 25. These improvements encompass a fresh difficulty setting, additional animations, and a “sneak attack” batting method designed for strategic use.
To wrap it up, the first trailer for MLB The Show 25 has also announced that baseball legends Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez will be part of this year’s edition. Interestingly, these two players have not been featured in previous MLB The Show games, but they were among the most demanded by fans. It seems that Clemens and Ramirez are just the beginning of a bigger roster of retired Major League Baseball stars expected to join MLB The Show 25. Expect more details about this exciting addition in the coming weeks.
This year on March 18th, MLB The Show 25 is scheduled to debut, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. We’ve just unveiled a sneak peek of the game, and if you’re eager to get your hands on it, pre-orders for the title are now open at various retailers and online platforms.
