MobLand Shocker: Seraphina Saved by Mysterious ‘Kat’ in Episode 7 Cliffhanger!

Warning: Major spoilers ahead for episode 7 of MobLand

In episode 7 of the gripping Paramount+ crime series, MobLand, the Stevensons took steps to retaliate against the Harrigans in the escalating mob conflict. At the close of episode 6, Brendan and Seraphina Harrigan found themselves in a precarious situation, having narrowly escaped an attack during a business transaction in Antwerp, Belgium, that left their associates dead. The latest installment unveiled that they had managed to survive the initial onslaught but were subsequently abducted by the assailants and transported abroad with a more dire predicament awaiting them.

As Harry urgently searches for Brendan and Seraphina, they are transported from Antwerp to Amsterdam, only to be captured by the Mexican cartel. This criminal group, which also participates in London’s drug trade alongside the Harrigans and Stevensons, holds them captive within one of their warehouses. Regrettably, they were taken specifically for Richie Stevenson, and a camera was installed to allow the Harrigans in the Cotswolds to witness their execution. In a grisly turn of events, Brendan is brutally murdered, but a cryptic phone call to the cartel’s leader saves Seraphina, leaving Richie puzzled.

Who Harry Calls To Save Seraphina

She Goes By The Name “Kat”

Harry was heading towards the warehouse holding Brendan and Seraphina, but Kevin gave him new information about them, causing Harry to contact Donnie, the enigmatic man who had visited Zosia’s garage twice in previous episodes, seeking Harry. Donnie then put Harry in touch with a woman named Kat, who was on a luxurious private jet when they spoke. From their brief chat, it appears that Harry and Kat have some shared past, although the specifics remain unclear.

MobLand – Remaining Episode Schedule
Episode Episode Title Release Date
8 “Helter Skelter” Sunday, May 18th
9 “Beggars Banquet” Sunday, May 25th
10 “The Beast In Me” Sunday, June 1st

I have a strong feeling that I, being associated with someone who seems to hold immense power and influence, am poised to significantly impact the situation between Richie and the cartel in the not-so-distant future. A mere 10-second phone call from this person could potentially dissolve their connection, as anyone they command is not to be underestimated. Given her extravagant private jet, it’s plausible that she is a high-level billionaire or possibly a highly-ranked government official. She subtly reminds me that I now owe her a favor, and considering the context, it doesn’t appear to bode well for my future.

How Harry Tracks Down Brendan And Seraphina

He Was Engaged In A Race Against The Clock

A significant part of the episode focuses on Harry’s pursuit as he chases after Brendan and Seraphina. This leads to an increase in excitement for the episode. Upon discovering a Moroccan gang at the kidnapping scene, Harry decides to visit the Antwerp docks, where he suspects they operate. Here, he intends to confront them. One of the gang members flees, prompting Harry to chase after him on a motorcycle, in an attempt to learn the boss’s name and location.

In this scenario, Harry single-handedly storms through a drug warehouse run by Moroccans, which was based at the ports. As usual, his actions result in a trail of casualties. Remarkably, the crime boss lives to tell the tale (quite literally, since Harry hurled a grenade at him), allowing Harry to interrogate him regarding Brendan and Seraphina’s whereabouts. Eagerly, he embarks on the pursuit, but unfortunately, he arrives too late. In simpler terms, Harry ruthlessly invades a Moroccan-run drug warehouse, leaves a wake of dead bodies behind, manages to question the boss about Brendan and Seraphina’s location, but arrives too late to save them.

Who Jaime Lopez Is And Why He Hates Conrad Harrigan

The Cartel Boss Is More Than Willing To Assist Richie

Brendan and Seraphina find themselves caught by Jaime Lopez, a high-ranking member of an unnamed Mexican cartel active in both London’s drug trade and across Europe. Recognizing he couldn’t reach them quickly enough from Antwerp, Richie delegated the task of killing the Harrigans to Lopez, who in turn delegated the kidnapping to Moroccans due to their geographical advantage. Lopez is eager to help out because of a grudge that goes back 30 years, stemming from an incident involving Lopez’s father and Conrad.

In a chilling echo of cartel behavior and Richie Stevension’s twisted ways, Lopez repeats an appalling insult to Brendan and Seraphina as he explains his role in their kidnapping and murder. Instead of the simple act of executing them, he orchestrates a gruesome spectacle. He sets up a live broadcast showing the two bound in chairs, and orders one of his accomplices to rev up a chainsaw, symbolizing his deep-seated animosity towards the Harrigans and Richie’s newfound thirst for vengeance following the deaths of his son and wife. Brendan meets a grisly end, but Kat manages to call Lopez in time to prevent Seraphina from suffering the same fate.

Why Jan Is In Bigger Trouble Than Ever Before

She May Be In Maeve’s Crosshairs Now

It’s clear now that Maeve has been the informant within the Harrigan crime organization all along, and she’s finding herself cornered. In episode 7, she nearly gets exposed when Conrad suspects her after she falsely claims Richie messaged her about Brendan and Seraphina. In reality, she had tipped off Richie on their whereabouts. When Conrad asks to see the text, she feigns innocence and creates a scene about his lack of trust before Kevin intervenes. As Maeve tries to escape, it’s Jan who finds herself in grave danger.

Conrad started to suspect, under Maeve’s influence, that Jan was the one leaking information about the Harrigans. He even went as far as threatening her about it in her own house. In episode 7, he made Paul tail her to a pub where she met Alice, who turned out to be an informant for DS Fisk. During their conversation, Paul heard Jan discussing “killers and gangsters,” which made him think she was divulging the Harrigans’ affairs to someone she barely knew, possibly suspecting that Alice might actually be an undercover officer.

Maeve had always been privy to Conrad’s deeds, which clearly showed that Paul was his lackey rather than Maeve (as some might suspect). With Maeve now trying to divert attention from herself, it appears likely that she will implicate Jan as the culprit. Unless Harry steps in or additional evidence against Maeve emerges, it seems that Jan’s fate is all but decided. If something unfortunate befalls Jan, it could serve as a catalyst for Harry to turn against the Harrigans and ally with Richie instead.

Why Gina Still Hooks Up With Eddie

She Sees Through His Pick-Up Attempt, But It Doesn’t Stop Her

As I traverse the grandeur of the manor with Eddie, his seedy demeanor is on full display as he attempts to charm the 16-year-old Gina Da Souza. During our stroll, he expresses his discontent towards his unreliable father and the loneliness that follows. Unbeknownst to him, Gina has a keen eye for psychology, and she swiftly recognizes Eddie’s tactics as the “mirroring” technique. However, in an unexpected turn of events reminiscent of Alice and Jan’s conversation at the pub in episode 7 of MobLand, I find myself drawn to the enigmatic Eddie, defying my better judgment and embarking on a romantic entanglement with him.
