New York State Police are investigating an incident that left a mother and two young children dead.
In a tragic incident on October 28th at Niagara Falls State Park, New York, a resident named Chianti Means, aged 33, along with her son Roman Rossman, 9, and daughter Mecca Means, only 5 months old, sadly lost their lives. This unfortunate event occurred after they reportedly bypassed safety precautions, as stated by the authorities.
At approximately 9 a.m., authorities were summoned to an event near or at Goat Island in Niagara Falls, as reported by New York State Park Trooper James O’Callaghan. The subsequent investigation revealed that three individuals had disregarded safety barriers and ventured over Niagara Falls, specifically on Luna Island, which is connected to Goat Island.
The police couldn’t find the deceased persons, but they believe their deaths were deliberate. An ongoing probe aims to gather additional information.
On October 30, Trooper O’Callaghan addressed the media to shed light on the findings uncovered by the ongoing investigation up to that point.
According to the Public Information Officer, “they ventured there but did not return,” and that’s the current status.
O’Callaghan pointed out that “there are numerous safety precautions” at the Falls. He further emphasized, “It wasn’t a simple matter of them accidentally wandering in.
Despite being unable to disclose details about the testimonies from their investigation for reasons related to the ongoing inquiry, the officer shared that what they’ve been told is quite concerning.
O’Callaghan inquired, ‘Could you explain the exact details of what transpired?’ He added, ‘We might be able to uncover this or it could remain a mystery, but it’s important to note that we don’t think anyone else was involved.’
