Summary
- Title Update 1 for Monster Hunter Wilds somehow worsened performance issues.
- Reports of PC crashes have increased significantly.
- The reasons and instances of these crashes are varying, causing further confusion.
As a devoted Monster Hunter World fan, I’ve noticed that since the beta phase, there have been recurring discussions about the game’s performance and optimization. Even though it’s Capcom’s most successful title to date, many of us were disheartened by its launch state. Fortunately, subsequent updates have helped alleviate some of the strain, but even top-tier systems haven’t been immune to reports of optimization issues and occasional crashes.
It had become apparent that Capcom required a significant overhaul to tackle these problems, and many believed that Title Update 1 represented this solution. This update promised new creatures, a Grand Hub, and other features, leading fans to anticipate that it would resolve the troubles the game has been experiencing. Unfortunately, it appears that matters have taken a turn for the worse since the update was released.
Title Update 1 May Have Made Monster Hunter Wild’s Performance Worse Somehow
Despite an uptick in user reports of the game and system crashes, what’s troubling is the diversity of issues causing these problems. For some players, the game stops working as soon as it’s launched, whereas others encounter crashes several minutes into their quest.
Some people say that the game freezes when players try to trade items with Sekka, and this is the only problem Capcom has acknowledged so far. I’ve been experiencing PC crashes myself, just a few minutes after starting the game, even on the main menu. This issue started happening for me before the update and it hasn’t stopped since then. Important to note, I had already played the game for 45 hours before this began.
Currently, it feels like searching for a specific solution is similar to finding a needle in a haystack, given the abundance of suggestions I’ve encountered on forums – from trying a wired controller, reverting to older driver versions, updating my PC’s BIOS, tinkering with game files, and even employing mods.
The annoyance is compounded by the fact that the patch notes for Title Update 1 specify just a single resolution for crashing problems, which pertains to instances where you block a Gravios attack. Truly, that’s quite a formidable attack.
The high volume and diverse occurrences of crashes are causing concern for players eager to play the game or explore fresh content, since resolving each issue may delay the release of a solution. Fingers crossed that Capcom is actively addressing the problem.
