Monster Hunter Wilds’ first title update is overflowing with new stuff: A long-awaited Grand Hub, Arch-tempered Monsters, Arena Quests, and most importantly, fashion

As a dedicated Monster Hunter fan, I’m thrilled about the first title update stream for Monster Hunter Wilds! It’s jam-packed with content that longtime series enthusiasts like me will find hard to resist. It seems Capcom is eager to ensure the game gets off to a strong start. The update drops on April 4, but for specific details, you can check out our helpful roadmap post.

Initially, it’s important to note that Mizutsune is scheduled to appear soon, offering a rather aggressive bubble bath experience, as well as some stylish armor sets from its hide. This event significantly enhances the true endgame aspect of the Wilds: Fashion. The hunt for this creature can be initiated by players with Hunter Rank (HR) 21, simply by conversing with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest.

After going through all the challenging conversations, Capcom will also add two end-game hunts that might satisfy your masochistic side. Zoh Shia will reappear, along with the first of the game’s Super-Angry Monsters: Rey Dau. If you’re new to the series like me, Super-Angry Monsters are tough challenges in the end-game where the creatures are made much harder to fight.

In the usual fashion, both battles can be found at HR 50. However, Rey Dau will join us as part of a future event quest. As always, each of these creatures will have unique rewards associated with them, which are displayed below.

Additionally, there’s the Grand Hub, a common concern among experienced gamers is the somewhat disorganized camp layout in Wild. Despite being cozy and fitting the narrative of discovering a new frontier, players have been yearning for a central location where they can move around freely, craft armor, and, most significantly, show off their armor to online spectators. The hub will encompass:

1. A place for exploration and interaction
2. An area for crafting armor
3. A platform to display armor to other players online

  • A bowling minigame.
  • A diva who’ll sing, you know, for ambiance.
  • Important NPCs from the Windward Plains, such as Felicita, who helps you manage squads.
  • Seasonal quests—like the Festival of Accord: Blossom Dance, which’ll debut April 21.
  • Palico chefs. Super important.

At HR 16, the Grand Hub will open up, reachable via Suja, the Summits of Agreement. Additionally, it’s where you’ll find the new addition to

As a gamer, I’m excited to take on these time-trials where I can compete for top spots on the leaderboard. These trials will pit me against formidable monsters, but with a limited set of gear at my disposal. However, Wilds has also added “free challenge” versions of these quests, allowing me to bring whatever speed-killing setup my crafty, not-so-eco-friendly mind can dream up!

To wrap it up, here’s something worth highlighting: You have the ability to personalize Alma’s wardrobe and eyewear. It seems my new role within the guild grants me this decision-making power regarding her attire. I suppose this strengthens our bond as colleagues. However, it’s not just Alma who receives an upgrade—the game will also introduce its first paid cosmetic pack soon, available on various digital marketplaces.

As a novice in this series, I must admit that I am genuinely amazed by the rapid pace and abundance of activities here – Capcom has truly delivered an impressive performance. And since I haven’t experienced the old-school challenges yet, I can’t wait to be challenged by these new HR 50 monsters. By the way, the free title update is coming on April 4. Here’s hoping Japanese businesses can manage through the anticipated sick leaves.
