Monster Hunter Wilds Gamescom Demo is Limited to 30 FPS on Consoles

As a seasoned Monster Hunter player and a devoted follower of Canta Per Me, I can confidently say that their insights into Monster Hunter Wilds at Gamescom have only heightened my anticipation for this game. Their firsthand experience with the demo on PS5, despite it not running at 60 frames per second, reassures us that it still feels smooth and stable, which is a testament to Capcom’s game development prowess.

At Gamescom, Capcom’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has been lauded by many, offering players the chance to try it out and watch fresh gameplay clips. Yet, it appears that the game can only run at a frame rate of 30 frames per second.

Visitors can get hands-on experience with a demo on the exhibition floor, and popular Monster Hunter streamer/speedrunner Canta Per Me shared their thoughts. They mentioned that it didn’t operate at 60 frames per second but “felt like a steady 30 FPS.” When inquired about a Performance mode in the settings, they responded, “I didn’t see an option to switch to performance mode, but that could change in the final version.”

It’s important to mention that at launch, both games – “Monster Hunter World” and “Monster Hunter Rise” – ran at 30 frames per second (FPS) on their standard consoles. Although “Monster Hunter World” could reach higher frame rates on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, neither of them managed the desired 60 FPS.

As a fan, I’m excited to share that while this is just a demonstration version right now, there might be a Performance mode coming up with the official launch. Keep your eyes peeled for any updates! On the plus side, you can skip cutscenes in the demo, and hopefully, that feature will remain when the game launches.

The action-adventure game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” is set to release in the year 2025 on platforms such as Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. You can watch the newest trailer for it right here.

First of all: skippable cutscenes 👍
