Monster Hunter Wilds Has Become the Best Selling Game of 2025 Even With Serious Competition

As per recent sales figures from Circana, Monster Hunter Wilds stands as the top-selling video game in 2025. This blockbuster title has outperformed others not just in February, but also throughout the year on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam markets.

As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that Steam sales have been instrumental in the success of my latest game, Monster Hunter Wilds. It’s clear that the PC version is performing exceptionally well, complementing its impressive showing on consoles.

In comparison to previous franchise entries like Monster Hunter Rise, Wilds has already surpassed Rise’s launch sales revenue, doubling it within just a few weeks. This is quite remarkable!

It’s interesting to note that Wilds debuted at a higher price point of $69.99, contrasting with the initial price of Rise at $59.99. However, this didn’t seem to deter fellow monster slayers and weapon enthusiasts like myself from diving right in. And honestly, given the game’s quality, I can understand why.

Capcom’s newest game had to compete against a number of other popular new releases that also claimed top spots. The main rival was “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II” by Warhorse Studios, which ranked second, followed closely by “Civilization VII”. Sports games like “PGA Tour 2K25” and “NBA 2K25” were also on the list, taking sixth and fifth positions respectively. Meanwhile, “Avowed” by Obsidian came in at 13th place, while “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” ranked 18th.

Previously number one game, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, has now slipped to the fourth spot, and NBA 2K25, previously in the second position, has climbed up to fifth.
