As a seasoned Monster Hunter veteran who has slain countless beasts across generations, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as the latest addition to this epic franchise, Monster Hunter Wilds, is about to grace our screens next year! The early access period for PlayStation Plus subscribers, which started today and runs until October 30th, has me itching to get my hands on the controller.
The upcoming main series game in Capcom’s popular action RPG series, Monster Hunter Worlds, is set to release next year on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Starting from October 31st to November 3rd, all platforms will offer access (with pre-loading available a day early at 8 PM PDT on October 30th). If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, the beta is currently active until October 30th, 8 PM PDT.
In this content, you’ll find a character creator for both your Hunter and Palico. You can also join a story mission where you battle against Chatzacabra or explore the Windward Plains to fight Doshaguma. While progress from the hunts won’t transfer to the game, the created characters will, providing an advantage at the start.
Cross-platform gaming is functional, meaning players can join forces on any platform they choose. Important to note: disabling this feature won’t only keep you from being paired with users on different platforms, but also with those on your own platform who continue to use the feature.
On February 28th, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Keep an eye out for additional information over the next few months.
