As a seasoned hunter with scars etched from countless battles against the ferocious beasts of the Elder’s realm, the prospect of facing two new monstrosities – Quematrice and Uth Duna – in Monster Hunter Wilds has sent shivers down my spine. The anticipation is palpable as I envision the fiery breaths of Quematrice and the treacherous waters of Uth Duna’s domain, the Scarlet Forest.

Multiple sources got an early, practical look at a fresh preview build of Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds, encountering brand-new monsters for the first time: Quematrice and Uth Duna. These creatures make their debut in the game, with the former being a Fire-dealing Brute Wyvern.

Though it can bite opponents, its tail is the main danger, spreading a “flammable substance” (as the PlayStation Blog describes) and afflicting Fireblight. Uth Duna is in the Scarlet Forest, acting as its Apex Predator. The Leviathan flows around, dealing Water damage and inflicting Waterblight.

As I gaze upon its form, I can’t help but be reminded of Namielle, an Elder Dragon, with its imposing body and sweeping flaps. Yet, beware when it thunders down with its mighty frame. Interestingly, it coats itself in a protective fluid across its body, making precision crucial to hit the vulnerable spots.
