On April 4th, 2025, you’ll see the long-awaited first title update for Monster Hunter Wilds become active. To ensure players are well-informed about what they can anticipate in this update, Capcom has shared the patch notes on their official site.
In my research, it appears that the first title update for this game includes some exciting new features alongside previously mentioned additions such as hunting Mizutsune and a High-Rank Zoh Shia. However, the most intriguing aspect is the focus on improving existing elements. This update will bring about weapon balance adjustments, bug fixes to enhance gameplay, quality-of-life improvements for smoother game experiences, performance upgrades tailored specifically for the PC (Steam) version, and other notable advancements.
Here are the full patch notes as taken from the official Monster Hunter Wilds website:
Monster Hunter Wilds 1st Title Update patch notes – Major changes and additions
– New monsters can now be hunted after meeting certain in-game conditions.
– Mizutsune is now available! Achieve HR level 21 to gain access to a new mission, which you can initiate by chatting with Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp. Finish this mission to acquire Mizutsune.
– You’ll get access to Tempered Mizutsune once you reach Hunter Rank 41 or above, following the completion of its additional mission.
Monster Zoh Shia has been elevated to a high-tier status. Reach level 50 to access a quest that makes Zoh Shia available.*
– New story, extra, and side missions have been added.
– New weapons, armor, and skills have been added.
– The upgrade limit has been increased for armor of rarity 5 and above.
– A new feature, the Grand Hub, is now available. You can unlock it by finishing a tutorial mission which will show up once you reach HR 16.
Here are some new additions to the Grand Hub: Barrel Bowling, also known as “Barrel Roll”; “The Diva” which I assume is an attraction or game; Arena Quest Counter, possibly a counter for quests in the arena; The Canteen, a place to grab food and drinks; and lastly, the Arm Wrestling Barrel, where you can test your strength.
A Record Board for expeditions has been incorporated into the Main Hub, featuring leaderboard standings for speed-based quests.*
Or more informally:
We’ve stuck a board up in the central area showing who’s fastest at the time attack missions!*
– Arena Quests have been added.
– New types of quests called “Challenge Quests” and “Free Challenge Quests” (quests that don’t require any specific equipment) have been included, but they won’t be accessible right away. You can expect them to become available in the future.
– New status ailments have been added.

– An arena log page has been added to hunter profiles.
– The Change Appearance menu in the camp now has an option to change Alma’s outfit.

– New limited bounty categories have been added.
– New voice lines, pose sets, and gestures have been added.
– Preparations have been made for the Festival of Accord, planned to run from April 23 to May 6.
During the Festival of Accord, several elements will undergo a temporary change: the costume worn by the Handler, the Secret’s embellishments, the repertoire of the Diva, the décor of the Grand Hub, and the menu offered at the Canteen.
Monster Hunter Wilds 1st Title Update patch notes – Bug Fixes and Balance adjustments
Base Facilities
Once you’ve opened the Grand Hub, the Squad Information Center will relocate from the Windward Plains Base Camp to the Grand Hub instead.
As a tech enthusiast, I recently resolved an intriguing problem: when using the BBQ Grill successively within a tent, the game’s control mechanics would malfunction.
I’ll rephrase that for you:
– Resolved a problem in the BBQ Grill functionality. When ingredients were utilized but the meal wasn’t triggered due to a cancelled meal or disbanded Environment Link, the effects wouldn’t appear as expected. This issue has been addressed now.
– Improved the response time for controls in all dialogue scenes, such as facility conversations.
Now, the “Rest” command costs 500 Guild Points, and investigations grant 10% more Guild Points than they did previously.
Or, in a more conversational tone:
The cost to use the “Rest” command has gone up to 500 Guild Points, but good news! Investigations will now reward you with 10% more Guild Points compared to before.
As an analyst, I’ve made adjustments to the requirements for both “Wyverian Melding” and “Meld Decorations” at the Melding Pot. Now, a higher number of points is needed to perform these actions.
– You’ll get more fusion points from certain items and scarce ornaments when you use them for fusion.
Or,

– Now available on the Provisions Stockpile menu is the new feature called “Transfer Items”, which enables you to resupply items from locations outside your tent.
Missions
– Resolved a problem that prevented certain side missions from being finished properly, as they required specific item submissions.
– Fixed an issue that prevented the completion of side mission conditions during event quests.

– Fixed an issue where the Smokeshroud Gekko endemic life would not appear in the Windward Plains.
– Adjusted the behavior of some monster actions.
For specific monsters like Gore Magala, we’ve intentionally moved the camera farther away.
– Fixed an issue where Jin Dahaad would unintentionally disappear from the locale.
Player – General
– Fixed an issue where the hunter profile could not be edited properly.
– Added a feature that lets you reset hunter profile edits.
– Resolved a problem that prevented the cancellation of sneak attacks when utilizing light bowguns, heavy bowguns, or bows.

– Fixed an unintended issue where large falling boulders could be blocked.

– Light Bowgun: Fixed an issue that caused Wyvernblast to react to Palico attacks.
– Fix made on Palico: Resolved problem where stun and tire levels wouldn’t rise when a Palico strikes a monster using a blunt weapon.
Fixing a problem: Some moves requiring multiple inputs at the same time weren’t functioning properly with the Hunting Horn.

The hunt for the elusive Mizutsune is on!
Monster Hunter Wilds managed to sell more than 10 million units within a month following its launch, which is an impressive feat. However, despite its commercial triumph and numerous positive reviews (including our 4/5 star rating for Monster Hunter Wilds), the game has faced some severe criticisms from its fanbase.
The game has faced criticism on several fronts. For instance, the one million players online have pointed out suboptimal PC performance issues. The multiplayer aspect is also seen as unnecessarily complex, and there’s a widespread feeling of being let down by a significant reduction in difficulty compared to past Monster Hunter games.
It’s likely that the enhancements to VRAM utilization and DirectStorage in this update will significantly improve the smoothness of the Steam version, making gameplay more pleasurable for PC gamers.
From my perspective as a tech-savvy gamer, it appears that the latest patch doesn’t seem to include any significant adjustments to the multiplayer setup or major balancing overhauls for existing creatures, except perhaps altering their behavior patterns.
It appears that we can anticipate some enhancements for multiplayer and adjustments to the current monster balancing, possibly with the arrival of Arch-Tempered Ray Dau in late May, or more likely in the second update scheduled for the summer of 2025.
Meanwhile, we’ll face off against Mizutsune and Zoh Shia once the first update for Monster Hunter Wilds goes live tomorrow.
The latest edition in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds – a follow-up to one of Capcom’s top-tier Xbox games and PC games like Monster Hunter World – is now available for purchase. It was officially released on February 28, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam.
