Recently, Capcom held a stream revealing a massive amount of new gameplay footage and details about Monster Hunter Wilds’ upcoming Title Update 1. This update, now confirmed for release on April 4, 2025, was thoroughly showcased during the event.
In this upcoming update, you’ll find a rundown of fresh creatures, our brand-new social hub for gathering, exciting quests, insights about our forthcoming title update, and additional details – all at your fingertips!
New monsters
The demonstration of gameplay kicks off by spotlighting a fresh addition to the Monster Hunter Wilds’ collection of monsters – Mizutsune. This creature is an agile water-based Leviathan, known for its rapid slashes with claws, powerful beams of water from its mouth, and the ability to spit huge bubbles which make players lose their footing when struck.
When gamers attain Hunter Rank 21 within the High Rank area, they can interact with a character named Kanya found in the Scarlet Forest zone and acquire the mission necessary to hunt Mizutsune.
In the upcoming developments for monster lore, it’s been officially announced that the formidable Arch-Tempered monsters from Monster Hunter World will make a reappearance in Monster Hunter Rise. Arch-Tempered monsters are an elite category of creatures, proving to be significantly stronger than their Tempered counterparts.
Here’s another way:
The latest scoop about monsters is that the challenging Arch-Tempered monsters from Monster Hunter World will resurface in Monster Hunter Rise. These Arch-Tempered monsters belong to a special class, demonstrating more power than their Tempered kin.
These adversaries pack a punch that’s truck-like, boast significantly higher health reserves, and introduce fresh attack styles distinct from their usual ones. Defeating them grants players exclusive Gamma armor collections, adorned with novel aesthetics and passive skills for enhanced gameplay.
In the Monster Hunter Wilds game, players will soon have the opportunity to hunt an Arch-Tempered variant of a monster called Rey Dau. This special creature can be hunted once players reach Hunter Rank 50 and during the period when the Event Quest for Arch-Tempered Rey Dau is active. As per Capcom, this event will run from “April 29 to May 20 (PDT).

The latest update on Monster Hunter lore is that Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 will introduce a High Rank variant of Zorah Magdaros, also known as Zoh Shia. This fearsome creature was the final boss in Low Rank that players could only battle once, but now they’ll have another chance to hunt it and acquire unique equipment upon its defeat.
Players can embark on the mission to capture the advanced form of Zoh Shia once they attain Hunter Rank 50. Subsequently, Zoh Shia may appear sporadically within the Wyvern’s Waking area of the Ruins of Wyveria on the global map, providing an opportunity for players to take it up as a quest.
Grand Hub

In the upcoming demonstration, we’ll be highlighting a novel addition to Monster Hunter Wilds – a grand social area known as the Expanded Gathering Center or simply, the Magnificent Hub.
Here, you’ll find a massive virtual gathering spot for gamers. In this space, they can unite to create teams before setting out on quests, enjoy meals prepared by the friendly Palicos, and pass the time with entertaining mini-games like fishing, arm wrestling competitions, and barrel bomb bowling.
In a relaxed setting, players can also find themselves unwinding as they listen to a diva perform at night – a reoccurring aspect reminiscent of Monster Hunter 4.
Players can access the Grand Hub only after speaking with Tetsuzan at the Suja, Peaks of Accord campsite when their Hunter Rank reaches 16.
As an aside, we’ll move the Squad Information Counter from the Windward Plains over to the Grand Hub when it becomes accessible.
Arena Quests

The upcoming update for Monster Hunter Wilds introduces Arena Quests, which are unique challenges that allow players to battle monsters within a confined arena. By completing these quests, players can record their kill times and compete with others globally by comparing their results on online leaderboards to find out who has the quickest kills.
Additionally, you’ll find both regular and free Challenge Quests offered as temporary Event Quests. Completing these tasks will earn players decorative necklaces as rewards.
Or simply:
You’ll see new Challenge and Free Challenge Quests in the Event section. Finishing them gives cosmetic pendants as rewards!
In the Arena Quests and Challenge Quests, players will be required to don particular armor sets and wield specific weapons. These quests permit a maximum of two players to participate. On the other hand, Free Challenge Quests provide players with the freedom to select any gear builds they prefer and allow up to 4 players to join, or even summon NPC support hunters to stand in for absent teammates.
Once you have access to the Grand Hub, visit the Arena Quest Counter there and speak with Ricardo to gain access to Arena Quests, Challenges, and Free Challenges.
Alma outfits, DLC content, and roadmap

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates that are on the horizon for our cherished game! The grand event is gradually wrapping up, and in the first Title Update, we’ve got some fantastic surprises in store.
First off, after successfully completing a side-quest, you’ll now have the opportunity to personalize your Handler Alma by changing her outfit! Can’t wait to see the unique styles you’ll create!
Moreover, we’re preparing a variety of free and paid DLC content. This collection includes an array of fun items such as stickers, emotes, poses, accessories, layered armor, and even more goodies for you to enjoy customizing your gaming experience further!
These will be made available in DLC content packs or sold individually.
Capcom has announced that it will be adding more Event Quests to Monster Hunter Wilds in the future, along with a return of Seasonal events from Monster Hunter World. The first such seasonal event is the Spring-themed Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, set to debut on April 22, 2025, and run until May 6, 2025 (PDT).
At this gathering, participants can participate in both old and fresh Event Quests to acquire exclusive items such as equipment, decorative camp items, emotes, and other fun features.

Later on, Capcom unveiled a plan detailing future content for Monster Hunter World, outlining all the updates the game would get before the end of May.
Beyond what we’ve already covered, the blueprint also hints at a partnership between Monster Hunter Wilds and an unspecified Capcom series, as well as extra amenities.
Lagiacrus is finally coming back!

At the end of the event, Capcom unveiled a sneak peek for their upcoming title update, scheduled for Summer 2025. This teaser hinted at the comeback of Lagiacrus, the iconic monster from the 2009 game Monster Hunter Tri.
Fervent supporters have been imploring and yearning for the reappearance of this iconic beast in a conventional Monster Hunter game since it was last seen in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, back in 2017. Now, after an 8-year hiatus, Lagiacrus is set to make its triumphant return on modern platforms with Monster Hunter Wilds this summer.
This content update is already looking to fix a ton of my problems with the base game and more
Expressing it in a different way: It’s safe to say that there’s a wealth of exciting content awaiting Monster Hunter Rise players after its launch, and that might just be an understatement. However, I can’t help but harbor some concerns about whether Title Update 1 will tackle the balance and difficulty issues I noticed in the main game. What gives me optimism, though, is the fact that it seems poised to immediately rectify the post-game challenges I encountered with the game straight away.
The Grand Hub is stunning, battling Mizutsune and Arch-Tempered Rey Dau sounds thrilling, and it’s great that we won’t have to delay fighting High Rank Zoh Shia until the last Title Update like we did in Monster Hunter Rise; we can do it much sooner now.
Apart from that, I’m thrilled that Lagiacrus will return in the upcoming Title Update this year, which was on my list of desires for Monster Hunter World, and it’s undeniably one of the most amazing creatures in the whole Monster Hunter franchise.
As an analyst, I can’t help but wonder if there are any secret delights tucked away in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 1 that Capcom hasn’t shared yet. Let’s embark on this adventure together when we uncover the secrets on April 4, 2025!
The latest iteration in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds, which follows the success of Monster Hunter World – a highly acclaimed game across both Xbox and PC platforms, is now up for purchase. This new version was released on February 28, 2025, and can be bought for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers using Steam.
