As a seasoned Monster Hunter veteran, who’s spent countless hours swinging swords and wielding shields in various dimensions, I must say, nothing quite compares to the raw, visceral satisfaction of smashing monstrous beasts with a Hammer. The latest trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds has only rekindled my love for this humble yet powerful weapon.
Following the latest trailers showcasing the Long Sword and Charge Blade in “Monster Hunter Wilds”, Capcom has unveiled a fresh trailer highlighting the Hammer. Although other weapons boast new maneuvers and strategies, the Hammer remains largely unchanged, delivering powerful blows to monsters as if there’s no tomorrow. Take a look at it below.
1. The Hammer has the ability to build up power in its attacks much like the Great Sword, but what sets it apart is its Blunt damage, which makes it extremely effective at stuning enemies. The Hook Slinger offers quick maneuverability with the weapon, although it still packs a punch with moves such as Spinning Meteor. Interestingly, the Hammer’s design and matching armor set are unexpected, particularly for those who prefer to don plague doctor masks and club monsters with a pulsating brain.
In 2025, you’ll be able to play “Monster Hunter Wilds” on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A fresh trailer with possibly a new monster will premiere during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20th. From the 21st to the 25th, attendees at the event can even get hands-on experience with the game.
