Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer Showcases Oilwell Basin, Azuz, and New Monsters

As a seasoned Monster Hunter veteran with countless hours spent slaying beasts and traversing diverse landscapes, the latest reveal for Monster Hunter Wilds has me absolutely buzzing! The new locale, Oilwell Basin, looks like a fiery inferno that’ll test even the most hardened hunter.

During its recent presentation, Capcom unveiled both the release dates for the open beta of Monster Hunter Wilds and a fresh gameplay trailer featuring the new setting, Oilwell Basin. This location is dominated by oil and the persistent flames from “Firespring”. You can watch it here below.

Amidst it all lies the village of Azuz, home to the Everforge. The villagers are currently facing a grim situation due to the appearance of terrifying new creatures. Among them are the gas-emitting Brute Wyvern Rompopolo, who weakens players and causes earth tremors, and Ajarakan, a beast resembling Rajang, sporting sharp fangs and clad in armor. This creature often climbs overhead before plummeting down to attack.

Additionally, there exists an enigmatic creature resembling an octopus, referred to as the Black Flame. Could it be linked to Arkveld, the White Wraith? Only time can reveal the answer, yet it seems that the count of these puzzling perils continues to rise.

On February 28th, 2025, the game titled “Monster Hunter Wilds” will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. An open beta testing period is scheduled from October 31st to November 3rd. However, PlayStation Plus subscribers have an early access opportunity from October 28th to October 30th.
