As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of hunting monsters under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon seeing the latest trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds and its Heavy Bowgun. Having dabbled with various weapon types in the series, I must admit that the Heavy Bowgun is a beast I have yet to tame.
As a gamer, I’m excited to see Capcom focusing on various weapon types in next year’s Monster Hunter Wilds release. In their recent trailer, they spotlighted the Heavy Bowgun, a ranged weapon that might not be as fast as its counterpart, but it certainly makes up for it with enhanced defense capabilities. It seems like an excellent choice for those who prefer to keep their distance while taking down monstrous foes. You can check out the trailer below!
As a fervent fan, I’d like to share some exciting details about the Heavy Bowgun! This bad boy has an energy meter that builds up over time and each successful strike against monsters contributes to it. Once filled, it triggers Ignition Mode, allowing you to unleash Special Ammo continuously until the meter runs out. Additionally, it comes with both automatic guard for effortless blockage of incoming attacks, and manual blocking for those who prefer a more hands-on approach.
In the latest Focus Mode, you can land charged shots that detonate after a brief time, dealing additional damage to monsters’ injuries. Additionally, there’s a new skill that releases an intense explosive shot when up close. The Heavy Bowgun even features a dramatic attack where you thrust the barrel into the monster’s mouth and fire.
The action RPG title, “Monster Hunter Wilds,” is set to release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Personal Computers. A fresh trailer is scheduled to appear at Gamescom, and lucky attendees will get a chance to test out the initial playable demo.
