Monster Hunter World Hits 27 Million Units Sold, Monster Hunter Rise at 16 Million

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise has truly stood the test of time. The numbers speak for themselves – with over 105 million units sold worldwide across all platforms and instalments, it’s clear that this series is a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry.

It’s no wonder that Monster Hunter remains Capcom’s top-selling game. The anticipation for Monster Hunter Wilds is palpable, and based on the success of its recent open beta, it seems likely (to put it mildly) that the action RPG will sell extremely well when it launches next year. In the meantime, sales for past Monster Hunter titles aren’t showing any signs of slowing.

Capcom revealed that, as of September 30, the game Monster Hunter Wilds has been bought approximately 27 million times around the world. Compared to the end of the last quarter, this represents an increase of 700,000 units sold during the quarter. It’s important to note that these figures include sales for the Master Edition, a package containing both the base game and the Iceborne expansion. On another note, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has reached 14 million in sales, marking a rise of 600,000 units compared to the previous quarter.

Currently, Monster Hunter Rise has achieved a milestone of 16 million units sold. Compared to its previous figure of 15.4 million units, it experienced an increase of 600,000 units in sales over the last quarter ending September 30. Meanwhile, the expansion pack, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, has reached 8.8 million units sold, with an additional 400,000 units being sold during the same period.

Worldwide sales for Monster Hunter franchises have reached a total of 105 million units, with an increase of 2 million units compared to the previous quarter’s close. This figure encompasses all editions and platforms.
