Monsters, Inc. Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

As a lifelong Disney and Monsters, Inc. enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement! Growing up with Mike and Sulley, the idea of stepping into their world has always been a dream come true. The news that a Monsters, Inc. land is finally coming to Hollywood Studios is like receiving a magical ticket straight to my childhood fantasies.

Mike and Sulley are en route to Walt Disney World. At the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase during D23’s Saturday night event, it was disclosed that a fresh Monsters, Inc. area is about to break ground in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.

In accordance with the official narrative, the amusement park storyline unfolds directly after the initial movie. According to Disney’s website description, humans are now allowed into the Monsters, Inc. world, where laughter is essential for running the city efficiently. However, the authentic experience wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the factory itself. You’ll get to explore the surroundings, listen to the laughter echoing, and even speed through the facility just like our heroes, James P. Sullivan (or Sulley) and Mike Wazowski, by going through a special door!

🚨 EXCITING NEWS 🚨 Monster’s Inc. world is making its way to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, debuting the first-ever suspended rollercoaster in any Disney theme park! 🎢🎉 #D23 #Horizons

The main attraction in the park is a suspended ride where visitors can enjoy a ride next to the famous Monsters, Inc. doors acting as bridges connecting our world with theirs.

“At D23, D’Amaro expressed his excitement about experiencing Monsters, Inc for the first time by imagining himself riding on one of those doors like Mike and Sulley do. He revealed that this dream will become a reality at the park as visitors will get to enjoy the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park. Just as the claws in the movie lift doors high into the air, we’ll be doing the same thing for an unforgettable ride.”

New opening date has been set, although it’s said construction on the project will begin in 2025.

At Disney Experiences, the Imagineers turn dreams into reality by designing and constructing stories into tangible locations worldwide. These projects are currently under active development, with plans being drawn up and work in progress. To clarify, everything you’ll hear tonight is part of our ongoing work. D’Amaro emphasized this point when discussing Disney’s latest announcements.
