As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in the entertainment industry, it’s clear that Morgan Wallen has made some mistakes, but he seems to be taking responsibility for them and learning from his experiences. His sentence of seven days at a DUI rehab center, along with probation, shows that the court is giving him a chance to turn things around.
Morgan Wallen has received his sentencing.
Approximately eight months following his arrest for the alleged act of throwing a chair from a bar roof in Nashville, Tennessee, the artist known as “Last Night” admitted guilt to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment during a court hearing on December 12 at Davidson County Circuit Court.
After admitting his guilt, Wallen, who faced charges for allegedly tossing a chair from the six-story roof of Eric Church’s bar (The Chief’s), received a sentence of seven days in a DUI rehab facility, in addition to two years of supervised probation.
In the December 12 court hearing, it was revealed that the 31-year-old, who expressed remorse for his actions back in April, struck a deal due to his guilty plea. Judge Cynthia Chappell clarified that this agreement could lead to a maximum jail term of 11 months and 29 days and a fine of up to $2,500 for each count, as both charges carry such penalties.
She explained that instead of serving the full 11 months and 29 days, you’ll only spend seven days in prison, which will be at a DUI Education Center. The rest of the sentence will be served under supervised probation.
If Wallen fulfills the conditions of his plea agreement, which is based on “judicial diversion,” a law that enables offenders to request the court to expunge all records related to their crimes, then his arrest could be expunged. But, if he violates the terms of his sentencing, his offenses will be changed into convictions, as Chappell mentioned in court.
Following Wallen’s court hearing, attorney Worrick Robinson IV stressed out that the sentencing for his client does not equate to a conviction. He also pointed out the artist’s intention to contribute positively to his community in the future.
In a December 12th statement to TopMob News, Robinson stated that Mr. Wallen has been fully cooperative with the authorities over the past eight months, openly communicating and expressing remorse to everyone affected by the situation. It’s important to note that Mr. Wallen continues to focus on creating a positive influence through his music and foundation.
