As a dedicated follower of country music and its colorful characters, I find myself keeping a close eye on Morgan Wallen’s legal proceedings, which have taken an interesting turn this holiday season. Being a long-time fan of Morgan’s powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, it’s hard not to feel a pang of concern when he finds himself in the courtroom rather than on stage.
Morgan Wallen will be chasin’ justice following his arrest earlier this year.
The legal proceedings concerning the 31-year-old country musician, who was apprehended in April for reportedly throwing a chair from a rooftop bar in Nashville, Tennessee, are progressing.
As reported by local station WSMV, Morgan’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, made a short appearance in a Nashville court on December 10th. He submitted documents to a judge in Davidson County, who then instructed that the case be transferred to the Circuit Criminal Court.
According to reports, the performer who sings “Last Night” will not be there for today’s court hearing, but he is expected to attend the next one scheduled for December 12th.
TopMob has reached out to Morgan’s attorney and has not heard back.
On April 7th, I found myself in handcuffs, facing four charges – three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. This was after an accusation that I had carelessly tossed a chair from the rooftop of Eric Church’s bar, the Chief’s. At the moment, I am fully cooperating with the authorities as they investigate the matter.
Based on reports from local news station WKRN, officers were positioned near Chiefs Bar at approximately 10:53 p.m., when they observed a chair falling from above and landing on the street. Upon speaking to the bar’s security personnel, staff members are said to have claimed that Morgan was responsible for the occurrence.
According to reports, the officers allegedly watched a video where the singer from “Last Night” appeared to toss something over a building’s rooftop, which is six stories high and located above the street.
Following his arrest, the “Chasin’ You” singer spoke out about the incident.
He expressed, on a platform now recognized as X (previously known as Twitter), on April 19th, that he didn’t think it was appropriate to announce his presence until he had resolved some issues with certain individuals. He has reached out to the authorities in Nashville, his family, and Chief’s, acknowledging his actions were not something he is proud of. He takes full responsibility for his behavior.
Morgan added, “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe.”
