Mortal Kombat 1 DLC character Conan the Barbarian launches January 21 for Kombat Pack 2 owners, January 28 for all

On January 21st, the downloadable content character Conan the Barbarian from Mortal Kombat 1 will be available for players who own the Kombat Pack 2 or “Khaos Reigns” expansion. For all other users, he’ll become accessible on January 28th. This announcement was made by publishers Warner Bros. Games and developers NetherRealm Studios.

The downloadable content character, Conan the Barbarian, is modeled after the towering Cimmerian warrior from the 1982 movie “Conan the Barbarian,” with the appearance of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role.

Raised amidst the chaos of a battlefield, Conan has transformed into one of the world’s most formidable warriors, honed by tireless effort and combat. Taken captive after his parents were killed and village ravaged by the wicked warlord Thulsa Doom, he eventually gains his freedom under his master’s care and embarks on a mission for vengeance. Along the way, he frees countless others from Doom’s malevolent influence, ultimately vanquishing him. In the first installment of Mortal Kombat, Conan stands prepared to protect Earthrealm from the evil forces seeking conquest.

In the latest trailer, Conan’s unique and destructive fighting style is shown off, centered around his legendary Atlantean Sword. This expert sword-handler displays impressive agility with the massive weapon, showcasing his spinning sword technique and powerful overhead strike to crush opponents with sheer strength. The clip also previews one of Conan’s grisly Finishers and hints at the fighter’s Animality, an intense finishing move that transforms the character into a fearsome bull to obliterate vanquished adversaries. Fans will be thrilled to know that the beloved Animalities are now available for free as an update for all owners of Mortal Kombat 1.

Currently, you can play the first installment of Mortal Kombat on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, or personal computers through either Steam or the Epic Games Store.
